Eternal Life is Knowing Jesus

To find your identity in Jesus is to die to everything that replaces God with yourself as an idol.
To know Jesus Christ is to know how eternal life translates into Godly character that changes sinners into saints.

What The World Needs To Know About God

In Isaiah 6, the prophet saw the Lord seated on a throne, attended by the highest order of angels who serve God with a fiery zeal, the Seraphim. They said to one another, "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory." Let us understand that these highest of God's angels pronounced God's holiness, as it were, with increasing conviction as they called out Holy, Holy, Holy is Yehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Angels). This holiness is to say that God is set apart from all His creation. The word holy is the root word of sanctify or to be set apart to God for His purposes. God is eternal, without a beginning of days or an end of life. He abides, remains forever. In concluding this exaltation of God by the angels, they said, "The whole earth is full of His glory." They did not say, filled with His holiness but glory. Glory is the manifestation of God's holiness. Where did everything come from? Answer: The eternal being that we understand by His personal name as recorded in Exodus 3, Moses standing before a bush that burned with fire but was not consumed as the I AM THAT I AM. He is the God of great glory.

What The World Needs To Know About Jesus

"Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

John 17 is not the Lord teaching His followers how to pray, but it is Jesus, the Son of God, praying to God the Father. His first request was to be glorified by His Father, so that He might glorify His Father. The most critical hour in all human history had come; Jesus stood upon planet earth, which, if compared to the galaxies, would be smaller than a grain of sand is to earth. Jesus in His glory, if compared to all the galaxies, would be infinitely larger. Yet of Him we read in Paul's second (really 3rd) letter to Corinth, " He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (5:21)

Corinth, repenting of their self-made license to sin, were told to become righteous by Jesus Christ, who was made sin in our place, and God forbid they should take His sacrifice lightly. A sinful person cannot comprehend the suffering of the Righteous One who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf. My dear readers, have you found your identity in the One who died to save you and rose from the dead to impart His LIFE in you for His glory? To know Jesus is to partake in eternal life as it is found in Him.

What The World Needs To Know About The Trinity

In John 17, our Lord, the Son of God made flesh, lifted His eyes to heaven and prayed, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You." Here, He announced in prayer the equality of God the Father and God the Son, the Holy Spirit testifying in the Word of God that He inspired as the third person of the Holy Trinity the equality of three distinct persons in one God. Jesus continued, 2 "even as You gave Him authority over all flesh..." Sin has turned all mankind from birth into a race of self-loving, God-hating rebels, who by God's curse live in ignorance and pride.

The revelation of God is not naturally within any person but must be imparted by God through His Holy Scriptures. Jesus said, concluding verse 2, " that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life." Jesus then defined eternal life by saying, 3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." To know God is to fear God, and for this reason, the scriptures proclaim in Proverbs 1:7, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction." Without the knowledge of God, we are all nothing more than fools. However, Jesus left His shared glory with God the Father and became a man, so that those chosen by the Father, as in verse 6, "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word." To be clear, Jesus prayed again in verse 9, "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;"

What the world needs to know is that God is three distinct persons, yet so unified and giving glory to the others that they are One God. So unlike sinful people. My dear reader, have you found your identity in your creator and Jesus Christ, the only One who can save you from idolizing yourself? To find your identity in Jesus is to die to everything that replaces God with yourself as an idol.
